DEMOLITION UNDER WAY AT PERTH THEATRE

As construction continues on the restoration and redevelopment of Perth Theatre, demolition work has begun to make way for the new extension. The three storey extension adjacent to the B-listed Edwardian auditorium will contain new foyer space, restaurant, bars, new 200-seat studio theatre, community room and lift to all floors. The demolition will expose the original auditorium wall, constructed in 1899-1900, which will be retained as a feature of the redeveloped space. WORK STARTS SOON ON CARRONGRANGE SCHOOL

Construction work on a brand new secondary school for young people with additional support needs in Falkirk is due to start soon. The Education Executive at Falkirk Council has approved the final proposals for the new £17.5 million Carrongrange School, which will accommodate 190 pupils. The project is being led by hub East Central Scotland in partnership with Falkirk Council, Scottish Futures Trust and Ogilvie Construction and is due for completion in August 2017.
