NEW BALDRAGON ACADEMY OPENS FOR PUPILS

The new £28.7 million Baldragon Academy opeeds its doors for business on today (Feb 22) as pupils enter the building for the first time.  Completion of the new secondary school finalises an educational campus for the area. This includes the already-opened £8.1 million replacement for Sidlaw View Primary School and Jessie Porter Nursery. JOHN SWINNEY OPENS WAID COMMUNITY CAMPUS

Waid Community Campus was officially opened by Deputy First Minister John Swinney at a ceremony with almost the whole school community looking on. The unique design of the building, with its central atrium and impressive “Hellerup” stairs, meant that most of the school could witness the official ceremony from the balconies and be a part of the historic occasion.  The audience also included the three previous headteachers of Waid Academy.
