Dunfermline Museum & Art Gallery

Fife Council appoints hub East Central to deliver new £10.8m Dunfermline Museum & Art Gallery Project hub EC is delighted to have been appointed to take forward the prestigious Dunfermline Museum & Art Gallery project.  The project will see hubco work with Fife Council to develop a new and accessible museum and art gallery in the heart of Dunfermline’s heritage quarter, adjacent to and integrating with the world’s first Carnegie Library. In late summer 2013, the historic site’s archaeological excavation revealed several artefacts and monastic building details from the historic area that is thought to comprise the layout of its once great royal abbey.  Once complete, the new facility will showcase a 500 year history of life and times in Dunfermline. The impressive plans for the new building include a landscaped entrance for the combined library, museum and art gallery and purpose-built museum exhibition and gallery spaces for high-quality displays of Dunfermline’s museum artefacts. hub’s Tier 1 Contractor, BAM Construction, are expected to commence construction in Spring 2014 and will complete the works in 82 weeks.  The historic project is designed by Richard Murphy Associates (Architects) and museum display designers Redman Design. Further details and news on the construction of this historic facility will be available here in due course, as well as on a dedicated Facebook page at www.facebook.com/dmagfife.   [caption id="attachment_906" align="alignnone" width="300"]Artist's Impression Artist's Impression[/caption]
