Awards for Burntisland School

DIA Ambassador 2015 SPACES 2015   Burntisland Primary School, delivered by hub East Central Scotland for Fife Council, has been recognised with two prestigious awards. The school was built by BAM Construction and designed by Fife Council’s architect. Its is one of only five in the UK to be highly commended in the Society of Public Architecture, Construction, Engineering and Surveying Civic Buildings of the Year Awards this year. The building has also been recognised by the Dundee Institute of Architects (DIA), winning this year’s DIA Ambassador award. Burntisland Primary School opened its doors to new pupils and staff in 2014 and is part of the Building Fife’s Future initiative. The £11 million new school project includes an integrated 80:80 nursery serving the whole of Burntisland. The school is also available for community use outwith school hours, together with access to the enhanced football pitch and play park at all times.
