ASN Learning Hub at Bannockburn High Doubles in Capacity

The £4.3 million second phase of a state-of-the-art facility for young people with additional support for learning needs at Bannockburn High School has been completed.

Bluebell House, situated on the grounds of the school, offers bespoke accommodation for pupils and is fitted with classrooms, nurture nooks, a sensory room and a general purpose room in addition to facilities for staff and administration.

The first phase of the facility initially opened in August 2025 with a capacity for 24 pupils. Following the completion of the works to extend the building, which started in late 2025, this capacity has now doubled to 48 pupils.

Social Work and Education Convener, Cllr Bob Buchanan said: “I’m delighted to see the completion of works at Bluebell House. This facility has been an important addition to Stirling Council’s education estate and a wonderful resource for young people with additional support for learning needs, so the doubling of capacity is great news for families. 

“Responding to the learning needs of ASN pupils and their families across Stirling is a high priority for Stirling Council. Delivering major infrastructure projects such as Bluebell House shows our commitment to meet these needs and ensure the best possible outcomes for our children and young people.”

Work began on Bluebell House Phase 1 in October 2024 with that project costing an estimated £5.1 million funded by the Education core capital programme bringing the total spend across both phases to £9.4m. 

The Design and Build contract for Bluebell House was delivered by hub East Central Scotland Ltd. and Ogilvie Construction are the main contractors for the project.
