Project Information

The purpose-built Carrongrange ASN Secondary School is the only secondary school in Falkirk for children with additional support needs.

We worked closely with our client on the design to incorporate all specific requirements for the school and its pupils, and brought together a team with experience of working on a similar project.

With this knowledge we were able to propose innovative and cost-effective solutions. For example, we developed the lifting and transport management system in preconstruction, which reduced costs and provided the architect and structural designers with increased flexibility for other elements of the work.

With capacity for 190 pupils over its two floors, facilities include assembly hall, classrooms, staff areas, kitchen, lift, gym hall, swimming and hydro pool, and sensory garden. There is also a ‘training flat’ where pupils can develop life skills alongside their Curriculum for Excellence studies.

With excellent project management, we delivered on budget and met the tight timescales so that doors were open for the new school term.
