Project Description
A new village is being developed by Barratt Groups at Durieshill, Stirling that will see the creation of more than 3,000 new houses over the next 30 years, with a mix of tenures including private, social and private rented housing, which will attract first-time buyers and families.
As part of the overall development, Stirling Council have identified the community and education facilities that will be required over a number of phases, as the village population grows. These facilities include:
- Primary School 1 (Phase 1) – 10 classrooms
- Primary School 1 (Phase 2) – 4 classroom extension
- Nursery / Early Years Facility
- ASN Facility
This commission will focus on the design and construction of a new Primary School 1 (Phase 1) designed to the Passivhaus Standard on a site within the new housing development. A 10-classroom primary school for 292 pupils will be provided, including associated external play & teaching spaces and car parking.
